LISTEN TO SOME CUES:

Guns for All
After tragedy strikes for the first time, the group finds energy and hope in the form of guns, lots of guns.
Energetic, action, orchestra, electric guitar and beats.

Watch the clip!

Its All Over
The last theme for the film, when the survivors can finally go home after their ordeal.
Dramatic, redemption, big orchestra.

Time
Since the serial killer is into time and rigging clocks to show the time of the next death, this piece is ticking away like time itself.
Dramatic sequence music, repetitite, marimba and orchestra.

Minimal
A quiet theme with the paranoia and fear of isolation and loss.
Dramatic, orchestral

Massive End
The very massive end credits theme. Tuomas burst out laughing when he heard this one played by the orchestra! It was a bit much in his opinion, but the producers liked it...
Huge, uplifting orchestral.

Shootout
The last men standing turn against each other.
Action, dramatic, orchestral.

End Fight

Sara's Theme
Another take on the Mindhunters theme, this time it's subtle and sorrowful, reminding of Sara's memories.
Dramatic, sad, orchestral.

About the making of the music:

Tuomas was brought onboard Mindhunters a few weeks before the final mixing of the movie so he was truly in a hurry! He basically sat next to his computers in a hotel room in London for the next 2 and a half weeks, scoring like a maniac and without ever leaving the room (thank goodness the production paid for room service! ;) He did get to go out for the recording sessions but even at lunch break he darted back to his room to finish another cue to be played in the afternoon.

The first recording was only 5 days after Tuomas took the job so he had to composer around the clock, but fortunately got great help from orchestrator Matt Dunkley (and, for a few cues, Andrew McKenna) who wasn't being lazy either since they had to deliver around 15 cues for the first two sessions in days...

It all went well, of course, and when Tuomas was not scoring, he was entertaining fellow Finnishman Renny and the films' editors during endless spotting , commentary and idea sessions in his room. It was fun, although (or maybe just because) everyone was so tired from all the hard work!

The music was recorded during 9 sessions at Sony Studios with a London orchestra contracted by Isobel Griffiths and Tuomas was so happy with the orchestra that he would like to always return to them if budget allows! He has gone back to record in London twice, with The Threat and Mother of Mine.
